a time to every purpose under heaven:

A time to be born, and
a time to die;
a time to plant, and
a time to pluck up
that which is planted;

A time to kill, and
a time to heal;
a time to break down, and
a time to build up;

A time to weep, and
a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and
a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and
a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and
a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to get, and
a time to lose;
a time to keep, and
a time to cast away;

A time to rend, and
a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and
a time to speak;

A time to love, and
a time to hate;
a time of war; and
a time of peace.

 Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

I would like to thank everyone for the thoughts and prayers
that you have given my family & I during this difficult time.
They have been comforting and heartening  as I and my family deal with the tragic death of our brother Dennis.

Dennis Paul Foley
August 4, 1950 – October 16, 2010
Dennis will be remember & loved for so so many things!!
      He made the best blueberry pies, hands down. If you ever tasted one your mouth is watering right now. If not, that’s really, really too bad.
       Dennis was a baseball enthusiast and walking encyclopedia. He witnessed the Red Sox win 2 worlds series. That’s 2 more than most people, and he counted those blessings every day.
      Dennis’s best friend was his mother and he called her every single night at 10:30 to chat about the day.
     History, science, literature, religion, mathematics, sports, or current events, you name it, he knew it, but never boasted or bragged.  Just ask Grammie – she never needed to use google, she had Dennis on speed dial.
   His knowledge and wisdom expanded as he absorbed and retained information from books and newspapers, and blended with his uncanny common sense and wit.
       When Dennis spoke, what he said was valuable, very heartfelt, and worth hearing.
       He was also a craftsman in all he did. When he taught you something it held many secrets and treasures.
        He didn’t paint houses, he brought them to life. His work was others good fortune.
    Many years ago his Godfather, Uncle Johnny referred to him as an artist, not a painter. How true.
       Dennis’s camera was the window to his soul. He saw beyond the obvious and had a talent for capturing the simple yet complex beauty in nature that God created for all to see. God gave Dennis this gift and Dennis shared the gift with others, through his incredible photos.
     If you were fortunate to have received a Foley Studios greeting card, what you really received was a part of Dennis’s being. They were often one of a kind and made just for you. If you have one of those cards you should get it out and take a look at it. You will smile, again and again and again. I know I have.
       Now, Dennis is with all of our other loved ones doing something special. Who knows, he may be busy making them a Foley Studio card, challenging them to a game of Trivial Pursuit, baking them one of his signature blueberry pies or cheering as the Yankees lose.
         Dennis, you will be remembered as a unique, deep, passionate, kind, creative and truly humble human being.
        You were scruffy on the outside but when unzipped an angel emerged.
       Artist, Photographer, Craftsman, Astronomer, Philosopher, Teacher, Statistician, Baker, Sports Fan, son, brother, uncle, godfather, or friend: take your pick, but I like all of the above and more - because there was so much more.
 We LOVE you Dennis.
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

Love from your baby sister
